70 Clear & Cloudy S.W.
June Friday 11th 1880

Very warm & "close". I went
to Frederic Stabler's to prescribe
for "Patty". Also lanced
gums & prescribed for an infant
daughter of a Mrs: Barnum, who
is boarding there. Hung a pair
of shutters on North end of our
room. After tea Charley took
our "Germantown" & a load of young
ladies from N Fulford to a "dance"
at Grange Hall. Ernest also took
one of the N. Fulford ladies in our
light buggy. Home half an hour
after midnight.

70 Clear, Cloudy & Storm. S.W.
Saturday 12th

Quite sultry in forenoon: hung
pair of shutters to back window in
our room. Louis Scofield came
to spend the afternoon with Willie.
Heavy thunderstorm whilst I am
writing this about 2.40 p.m.
Cleared off about 4 o'clock.
Edwd: Peirce brought Alice
over to spend a day or two with
Dora. Jno Ed: Hill here for
advice & med for himself &
infant. Ernest here in the
evening.

73º Clear S.W.
June Sunday 13th 1880

Beautiful day, but exceedingly
warm and sultry for "Quarterly
Meeting" Sunday. Charley went
to Lea's Mills & to meeting & took Mgt:
Tyson to Sally Lea's. Dora, Alice
Peirce & Willie went to meeting.
Bro: Richard came & staid with
us during meeting time, not
feeling at all well. Bro C & Lizzie
called for him on way home.
Afternoon I started to drive to
Jno: Smith's to call upon Susan
Coule Sr: who is staying there,
but it looked like a "gust" coming
up & I came home in time
for tea. Not quite as large an
"outside" attendance as usual
on Quarterly Meeting Sundays in
times gone bye.

70 Clear N.W.
Monday 14th

Was called (before breakfast)
to see Hannah Peirce's daughter
"Mabel" who was "horribly"
burned by the explosion of a
coal oil can from which she
was pouring oil to light a fire
in kitchen stove. She will
probably die. Went again in
afternoon. Bro R brok Ed Lea's
wagon on [?] & borrowed our
Germantown to take Martha Lea
& Madge Tyson home. I vaccinated
the latter. Charley went again
this evening to a party at Henry
Chandlee's. Home about midnight
Rained all the evening.
