July Monday 5th 1880

Drove to Ashton in open wagon
twice to N Fulford & again to
Ashton for medicine for Miss
Madge Tyson. Cloudy & threatning
weather. Washwoman here -
Afternoon took Dora over to "Homewood"
& left her whilst I took
Edwd Kummer & went to "Roslyn"
for cabbage plants, called
at Brighton. Very heavy rain
after dark with some thunder
& lightning. Walter Scott came
in out of the storm on his way
home from Balto & staid all
night.

Tuesday 6th

Cloudy, damp & "close". Annie
Rounds here & "ironed". Afternoon
Sarah Chandlee brought Tacy
Matthew's to make Dora a
visit. Had some music
in the Evening. Edwd Peirce
called and smoked a pipe
with me.

Went to N Fulford & Fulford
C. Frey & Viola called & spent
an hour or two with us.
Commenced building a
"horse block"

Thursday 8th

Still extremely warm. I
drove over to Homewood & brought
Mary Kummer here before dinner
E Pierce also brought Alice & left
her. Herbert Kirk called, also
Jno: W Lucas. Went to Hettie Stabler's
Dora had a "company" in the
evening for Tacy Matthew's
which was well attended by
the "young set". Mary Ellicott
Mary Kummer & Alice Pierce
staid all night.
