July Saturday 17th 1880

E Peirce called with some
of the "Homewood" grandchildren
I made "pen" for the chickens.
Afternoon I drove over to Knight's
called at Ashton. After tea drove
to near Chas' Stablers & met Dora
& Tacy who had been there to tea
I met them at Ingleside gate
Ole Mr Stiffler here & had tooth
out.

Sunday 18th

Was called up at 1.30 this
a.m. to prescribe for Lavinia
Thomas. and went to see her
this morning. Also went to
Ashton for medicine.
Jno: W Bell (from "Conowingo") &
Chas Farquhar called.
Charley took Dora & Tacy to
Mahlon Chandlee's & left the
latter there. Wm S Bond & wife
& sister called after tea.
Charley went to N Fulford to
say good bye to "Madge" who
leaves home for Liverpool
England tomorrow.

A G Thomas sent for the "Omnibus"
which I have sold to him.
I went to see Mrs Hiram Hopkins
near Colesville. paid toll gate
bill on Sligo pike. Washwoman
here. Platt brought us a
small load of hay - Afternoon
Mrs Rebecca Pidgeon & Tacy Matthews
walked over from Mahlon
Chandlee's & after tea Charley
Dora & the two other ladies went
to Bloomfield to a reception
given to Ed:Bentley & bride -
B Gilpin Stabler called and
I made out my return to the
Cencus Bureau of Insane & Idiots.

67 Tuesday 20th Cloudy S.E.

Tremendous thunder storm
at between 12 & 1 o clock this
morning. The heaviest electric
storm I have witnessed since
I left Harford Co: I took the
girls Tacy & Rebecca to Henry
Chandlees and then went to
Jeff Hopkins before dinner
Quite cool in the afternoon
& evening. Very heavy rain
during last night & much
wind & some rain this afternoon.
