August Saturday 14th

Edwd: Peirce here before I
was up. After breakfast I took
Harriet, Edwd & Cousin Elma Paxson
to Chas: Stabler's to call upon
Sister Harriet: we then drove to
"Homewood" & left Cousin Elma -
Called at Hardesty's & prescribed
for two of the sisters. Afternoon
I drove to Chandlee's tennant
house to see Sarah Dent's daughter.
Henson Hill here to
dinner. I settled with him in
full to date through Charley -
Had my hair cut at Fletcher
Clark's.

68° Cloudy & Rain N.E.
Sunday 15th

Charley was out "Serenading"
until after two o clock this
morning. Sam Budd here at 6
o'clock to get into the store for
groceries. Charley & Willie went
to meeting. Robt:Stabler's daughter
Mary called for advice & med:
Cloudy & disagreeable all day.
After tea took the whole family
a Ride, up the turnpike, &
met "all creation." Returning
from the abominable camp
meeting at Gaithersburg.
Home just after dark when
Charley drove to N. Fulford.

50° Monday 16th

Quite cool this morning. I
"tinkered" about home all day -
Cleaned out the chicken pen &
put into it plenty of dry sand
& Road dust to purify it.
Leanna Mitchell here washing
Willie went to "Hasewood" for some
preserving pears. After tea
Charley & Dora drove over to
Riverside. "Ma ma," Willie, Jim
and I, had a frolic paring
pears for drying & preserving -
Friend Edwd:Stabler having made
us a present of a basket of pears
of a suitable quality for winter
use.

Tuesday 17th

Went to Riverside to see Mrs
Boothe's son Gardener & home
Went again to Riverside to
see Herbert Kisk who fell
27 feet down from the Rocks
on the River - Went to see
Cassie Ann Budd at Horace
Sedgwicks - Harriet & Dora took
up the carpet in parlor shook
& turned it - Ernest came over
to tea; after which they both
went to North Fulford to a "Dutch
Dance." Home at 1. o'clock after
midnight -
