August Sunday 22nd

All up unusually Early for
Sunday morning. Charley & Willie
drove to Ingleside for Helen
Snowden and calling for Dora
on their Return all left here
for "Gaithersburg" "Mt Washington"
Camp Meeting at about half past
seven o'clock. Many wagons and
carriages passing to both white
and Colored "camps". the latter
generally singing at full pitch.
Edwd:Bentley called & got the
store keys & went into the store
for some articles he wanted.
The children got safely home
about 7-o'clock. Chas; Hartshorne
here to see Charley at
supper time.

71 Clear & Cloudy - variable
Monday 23rd

Very close & warm drove to Riverside
& back before dinner -
Bro Richard brought Sister Harriet
over & left her. Afternoon I
finished painting the phaeton
and went to Alloway to see
Friend Caleb Stabler. After
tea Charley went to the River
near Leawood Mills to a "pic nic"
dance - Home about 11. o'clock

Tuesday 24th

Drove to Alloway in the Germantown
took Sister H & Willie with me left
the former at C Stabler's until
my Return. Very warm & close
all day - "Local opeton" meeting
at the Colored camp ground.
Many of our best people attended
in spite of the heat.
E Chalfant here. & Whilst we were
at tea Ernest, Herbert, Mrs: Jacobson,
& daughter & Lizzie Iddings called and
hitching their team to our Germantown
took Dora & Charley with them
to the Colored camp meeting.
Home few minutes after Eleven.

Wednesday 25th

Took Harriet, Sister Harriet,
Dora, Willie & Edward (in Germantown wagon)
to Fulford and left
sister Harriet there to make a
visit. Howard Platt at offe to
see me & get advice & medicine -
Afternoon had quite a severe
thunderstorm. the weather
having been exceedingly hot
through fare part of the day. and
for several days o past.
