August Monday 30th

Still warm and "close". Mrs
"Venus"from Howard Co here and
had three teeth extracted. Mrs
R Cissell called for advice. I
went to see Fletcher Clark in
the village. Afternoon drove to
Ashton and took back peach box and
Frank Snowden's puppy.
Rained at intervals all afternoon
and about dark set in for a real
settled Easterly rain storm.
Charley was going to another
"Dutch dance" or "German" at
Mrs Scott's but we persuaded
him out of it & had a nice
evening at home, M usic etc.
B Rush Roberts called with some
papers to be mailed.

65 degree Rain NE
Tuesday 31st

Had fire in the dining room
all day. Went to see Fletcher
Clark. Put handle in "Bull
Tongue" hoe. Afternoon went
again to see F Clark.
Got "goods box" from store and
made another chicken house.
Rainy evening: Charley at home
again in consequence.

September Wednesday 1st 1880

Was called up after midnight last
night and went to Harry Lea's to see Bro:
Richard who suffered from an
attack of Nephritis or "Kidney
Colic". Staid until after breakfast.
Henson Plummer here and
paid his bill. Afternoon went
again to Leawood Mills to see
"Bro: Richard. Drove hard to get
home ahead of a gust that
did not come here after all.
Went to see Fletcher Clark.

Thursday 2d

Harry Lea called at the gate.
Drove in "Germanstown "to Leawood
Mills to see Bro Richard
taking along Willie and Edwd with us
went to Brighton and got Alice Peirce
and back to the Mill and home.
Afternoon went to see F Clark
and over to Lyceum.
After tea Charles drove over to
Leawood Mills and Riverside.
Dora and Alice made two wreaths
for the Lyceum each 18ft long
tomorrow being the day for the
annual meeting and exhibition
of the Horticultural Society.
