Corlelans Leizear Jr here for advice
&c. for his father. Drove
to Fred. Stablers to see his
son Caleb, through the rain.
Saul Scott & Charley walked
away with the bird dogs &
C did not return {?}

Monday 18th

Caleb Needles called. I
drove to Ashton & went to see
Jno C Bentley at Bloomfield.
Charley drove to Fair Hill
at noon (both horses in phaeton).
Anne Rounds washed for
Harriet. I made box of dope
After dark I drove to see
Perry Thomas (colored) lives on
Cunard's place on "Schooles"
Mill Road. Charley with me
after which he went to Bloomfield
to a little "musical"

Oct: Tuesday 19th 1880

First heavy frost. I drove
(both horses to the phaeton) to Fred'k
Stablers to see his son Caleb.
Horses both sick with "Epizootic"
Major being the most effected.
Afternoon Charley & Roland
Moore borrowed a horse from
Walter Scott and went to "Laurel"
to go to Baltimore to see the
Grand Illumination winding
up the Sesqui Centennial.
Expecting to come again some
time to night
.

Wednesday 20th

Charley and Roland Moore reached
home at 2.15 this morning. I
was awake all night & extremely
anxious until they came. they
report the "Illumination" &c. as
being grand & the crowd &
jam as exceeding all. Sent
Scott's horse home after having
it shod. Sister Beulah spent an hour
or two here on her way to a meeting of
the Old "Ladies Association" at Bloomfield.
Afternoon I drove to see
Perry Thomas.
