Nov. Wednesday 10th 1880

Took Helen and baby (in the phaeton)
to B Rush Roberts to dine. drove to
Ashton. T JLeas' butcher wagon here
& I got some beef steak & corned beef.
Afternoon I put tin on the cone of
kitchen roof. where it was broken
by the fall of the chimney. Drove
over to B R Roberts & brought Helen
and little Beulah home. Went to Fulford
immediately after breakfast &
extracted tooth for sister Beulah.
Sent open buggy to Tom Budds
shop to have new wheels put on.
Harry came before suppertime.
Sent Charley's supper up to him at
the store, he not being able to leave
the store so near alone.

Thursday 11th

Cousin Martha Lea called to see
Helen & baby. I drove to Ashton and
Sandy Spring. Finished putting tin
on cone of kitchen roof. Afternoon
Charley and Frank Gilpin went (in
the Germantown) to Riverside &c.
"hunting" killed one lark and after
supper Charley and Harry Lea went
(on horseback) "rabbit hunting"
with the beagles by moonlight.
I washed the phaeton and fixed up
harness.

Friday 12th 1880

Ellie and Isaac Wood arrived
about 11 o'clock in their own
conveyance having left home (Oxford)
on Wednesday morning: staid last night
at Ellicotts Mills. Afternoon I took
Isaac (in the phaeton) to Ashton and drove
on the "Manor". Got the open buggy
home with the new wheels on it
plugged up bolt holes & painted all
the joints at once. After supper
Charley went in it to a "fancy dress
party" at Jno: J Moores' dressed as
a sailor of US Navy. took Miss
Rose Hagdea, Home half an hour
after mid night. Harry Lea here
in evening. Helen dined at Bloomfield.
Jno: Brought her home.

Saturday 13th

Raw and chilly. I took Isaac to
Riverside and Bro Chas: went out
with us gunning. I killed two
partridges and Bro C. one. home to
dinner. Afternoon two colored women
here & had teeth extracted.
Sarah Stabler called for advice
for Mariannie. Commenced
snowing about 4 o'clock this
afternoon and continued until
bed time. Harry Lea and Ernest I
started for Baltimore from Leawood Mills
about daylight intending to return
tonight. they drove their own horses
all the way to town.
