Nov: Sunday 14th 1880

Snow covered the ground for
the first time this winter but soon
melted away. All from here went to
meeting except Harriet and myself, we
staid to take care of the babies.
Bro Richard dined with us. Afternoon
Bro C & Lizzie called also Edwd Bentley
& Hannah Chandlee. Charley took
Ellie & Isaac Wood, Bro: R & Hannah C
& Dora to call at Homewood in the
Germantown wagon. Harry Lea & Ernest
came about 2 o'clk, having got home
to the Mill last night. I wrote to
Bro: William about a Rifle for Charley
to take to the mountains.

30o Cloudy and Clear Variable

Henson Johnson came and cleaned
out the well: I tried to repair the
pump stalk. I took Helen and baby to
"Ingleside" before dinner, and went
after her afternoon. then took Dora
to Riverside to tea, Ellie and Isaac
also went to Riverside to tea.
Edwd Bentley & wife here in the
evening: Also Ernest Iddings.
Charlie went to the "Sociable"
at Edwd. Gilpins. Harry here
to tea.

Tuesday 16th 1880

Beautiful morning. Edith
Bentley called. Sister Beulah here
to dine. Hallie Lea called. Wash
woman here. Phineas B Carol here
for advice & medicine for child. Sarah
Owings also here for advice & med
for sore leg. Jenny Snowden had tooth
extracted. Afternoon Isaac Wood
& I walked down to Bloomfield to
tea. Walter Scott & Ernest and Jno Bentley
here in the evening & we had some
music. Charley went to Scott's office
and staid until after midnight
when I went after him & brought
him home Harriet having become
anxious about him.

Wednesday 17th

Looks and feels like snow. Willie
did not go to school having sprained
his back. Isaac and Ellie Wood, Harriet,
Edward and myself went to Homewood
to dinner. H and I returned soon
after; Isaac & wife remained to spend
the night. Edwd: N Bentley called expecting
to take Helen home with him
but we thought best that she should
not go just now. Tom Budd called
about dark.
