Nov: Monday 22nd 1880

Coldest morning so far this winter.
Went to B R Roberts' who has a
bad attack of pneumonia. R J Bentley
called before I was done my
breakfast. Helen & Mary Snowden
called. Martha Lea spent part of
afternoon here. Amanada Young here
with her daughter for advice &c.
Ernest called. Harry returned
soon after dinner & went to Fulford.
Bro Williams Rifle arrived
by stage at noon. Towards night
Harry drove me over to see R Roberts
again. It has been an extremely cold
day in consequence of the wind.
Wash woman here and washed for H.
Miss Carrie Kummer came in late
stage and will spend the night with
us.

Tuesday 23rd

Cold weather. Went to B Rush
Roberts and to Ashton. Harry took
Miss C Kummer as far as Homewood
and Willie to school.
"Harp man" here. Went again to
Roberts about dusk. Ernest
came in whilst we were at tea.
Had music in the evening.

Wednesday 24th 1880

Was called out of bed before
day light to see Rush Roberts whoes
symptoms are much more alarming
indeed I have but little hope
of his recovery now. We saw too
much company yesterday and
transacted business &c. I came home
to breakfast and went again about
nine o'clock and again about 3 p.m.
Drove to Ashton. Sent Jonas after
Willie from school. Harry Lea &
I walked over to B R Roberts after
supper. the former remained all
night to nurse & watch with Rush.
Harry Lea concluded a sale of
his mill property on the Patuxent
River to Geo: L Stabler.

Thursday 25th

Wm S Bond here. I drove to
B R Robert's, Ashton and Wm S
Bonds' before dinner. Charley
drove Major to Wm Moores'.
Harry Lea went with me to Rush
Roberts aftger tea. he to nurse tonight
again. Jonas went to a
wedding(Fletcher Clark's) at
Sharp Street church and Remus
Hills.
