8 Clear and Cloudy N.W.
Dec: Wednesday 8th 1880

Still cold but cloudy. Feels
like snow a blustering winter day
with snow "squalls" toward night
clearing off from the N.W. Sent Jonas
after Willie at 2 pm but he did
not find him. Dora & Helen walked
up to Fulford afternoon. Mrs J M
Smith called for advice for her
coachman. James Stone died about
daylight this morning. Harry went
away on horseback after breakfast
After store closed at night Charly
went to Jus: Stones to watch with
the corpse.

Thursday 9th

Cold sharp morning. Wind got
up after sunrise and continued
throughout the day. Eliza Bentley
called & spent an hour. I sent
Jonas after Willie after which I drove
to Ashton. Harry attended Mill for
Moab White who went to Rockville.
After tea I went to Frank Leizear's and
prescribed for Frank Jr: Ernest
came & induced Harry Charley and Willie
to go skating by moonlight
home in good time.

Friday 10th 1880

"Cold." Ed Davis here & had
his hand lanced & dressed.
Jonas went after Willie. Edith
Bentley called on way to Stones
funeral. I went over to the meeting
House. Harry went to Mill on the
River. After supper Harry went to
"Sherwood" to see Mary Roberts.
Charley went with another skating
party on Brooke's dam
by moonlight, home about
1/2 past ten o'clock.

Saturday 11th

Sent Jonas to Fulford for the
milk. I went to Ashton. Charley
drove Major to Ashton in Harry's
carriage. Willie went to Leawood
Mills with Harry & spent
the day. Afternoon Dora & Helen
walked to "Bloomfield" R J Lea
called and spent an hour or two
before dinner. Harry & Helen
walked over to "Sherwood" & spent
the evening.
