Ther. 65o Fri. May 26th, 1893 Variable Wind

Cloudy & threatning rain but
did not & was quite warm. Chas:
G. Porter was here & had a tooth
extracted ("the last one in his mouth.")
Willie left in the early stage for
Lincoln Va: I drove to Ashton
to see "Ent" about painting & repairing
the phaeton. Afternoon I worked
at getting in some of the rye hay.
trimming the dead branches out
of the trees around the house, &
various tinkering jobs. I felt
miserable early in the morning
but much better towards evening.
Dora went to the Library. Alice
& Fanny Peirce called on their
way to & from "Scotts" where they
went to do some "papering".

Rather a dull day. I
put all of the rye hay, that
was dry enough into the stable.
Walked up to the store &
P.O. At supper time my old
friend F Tyson arrived in
the Stage. After supper we
walked up to the store etc.
