I rode on horseback down to
the bone mill. called at Ashton.
Mr A. G. Mathews brought Ida
& the baby & "Miss Kate" in time
for dinner he went home after
noon. leaving them here.
Jno W Johnson came & cut
the grass all around the house
he & I cleaned out the "tanks"
under the garden house and
repaired them. John worked at
several other "odd jobs" about
the lot. There was a wonderful
colored wedding at "Sharp St"
this evening; at which all the
"high toned" colored folks were
present.

Clear & rather cooler. I rode
over to Presley Awkard's & Edwin
Davis'. Rachael Cosh came to
wash for H. Afternoon Miss
Martha Holland called to see
Ida & her sister "Kate" & the baby.
Bro Chas: & wife called about
dusk. This has been a beautiful
day, throughout. giving us a
clear sunset for the first in
some time past. I used the
lawn mower around the
house & after supper hoed
part of the corn on the garden.
