Rain Rain
Ther. 64 Tues. June 27th, 1893 NE Wind

This has been a chilly rainy
day: raining most of the time
and so chilly that the kitchen
stove drew us around it for
warmth. I slept most of the
forenoon. Walking up to the
store & shops after dinner.
Edwd finished painting a sign
for Emma King at Ashton.
Afternoon he went to the Library
to play "chess" with Miss Mary
Fowler. This has indeed been
a dull cheerless day. We should
try to be thankful & cheerful
at all times, when we have so
much to be thankful for, but
it is harder sometimes than at
others.

Cloudy
Ther. 66 Wed. June 28, 1893 SE Wind

Still cloudy & dull. I
went to Riverside & "Atholwood"
in Fletcher Clarks wagon for
a "toilet stand" Minnie loaned
H. for safe keeping. Phil& Edwd
went with me. Edwd rode
back to Atholwood for some
things that were left there by
accident. Alice Peirce brought
Hannah Archer. Alice went home
after tea leaving Hannah here.
