Cloudy
Ther. 32o THURS. DEC. 28th, 1893 Wind S.W.
Dark cloudy morning: it rained
for a short time about 7. o'vlk, but
soon "held up" and was cloudy and
threatening the ballance of the day.
Alice & Fanny Peirce left for home
about 10. o'clk. I feel very stiff &
sore today. Walked up to Henderson's
house for the papers & to the mill for some
"Daisy" flour with which to make yeast
powder according to Charley's
directions; mixing it with some white
powder which he sent his mother in
Dora's trunk. "Samuel Lyle's" a
yellow man (from Howard Co:) was
here & I extracted a tooth for him.

Cloudy & Clearing
Ther. 33o FRI. DEC. 29, 1893 Wind S.W. & N.W.
It was cloudy most of
fore part of the day, but cleared
off afternoon. I walked up to the
mill after dinner. Bro: Charles
called. Edwd rode "Frank" down
to Ashton. Mrs Robison came in
to consult me for herself, just at
dusk. I prescibed for her, giving
her some medicine & telling her
to go home & go to bed, until she
was better. This has been very
unusaul weather for the time of
year - today was more like a "spring
day", and we have had little or
no real winter weather so far,
notwithstanding the predictions
of the weather wise news paper
prophets: that we were to have
an unusually severe winter.
