Ther. 35o Mon. Feb. 21st 1898. Wind. Changeable
Still cloudy but wind has changed
and it does not rain. Edwd went
to "Fairfield" again after Dora. I
went to the mill & to Henderson's.
Sally Ellicott called for some
work Dora had finished for her.
Dora & Edwd came home to lunch.
Afternoon I went to Ashton and
put up medicine for Bro Charlie
that Minnie has called for over the
"phone wires" this a.m. Chas Powell
called. I rec'd letter from Mr C.D.
Luckett enclosing "check" for Miss
Dora B Mitchell which I took up
& left with Mrs Henderson.
It has been snowing at intervals
this afternoon and is still snowing
since dark this evening. After
supper Edwd went to Mt Airy to a
meeting of the singing class.
Cloudy.
Ther. 30o Tues. Feb. 22d 1898. Wind. N.W.
Still cloudy but clearing.
I went to the store & P.O. afternoon
Hewitt brought us a load of wood
whilst we were at lunch. I went up
to the mill for the papers,
The roads are in a bad condition
everywhere & almost impassable
in many places. The stage was
late in getting the mails to us
both morning & afternoon.
After supper Harry Fairall
came to the office to practice
telegraphy with Edwd again.
The weather looks threatning
this evening and feels raw and
rain like. I am glad to feel
that we have plenty of wood in
case there should be a snow
storm.
