Went to Fairall's for sugar corn seed.
Edwd. & I Ran the cultivator over part
of the lot & also the rubber, I ran out
two rows & E & his mother planted them
Willie came after supper (on his
bicycle) to stay all night with us.
Willie & I went up to the toll house
after supper. Old John was here to
see about going to "Hazelwood" for
Ida & the children tomorrow. he
was to have gone today, but could
not do so.

55° Ther. THURS. MAY 5th, 1898 N.E. Wind.

"Old John" came early this morning
bringing his horse & dayton, he & Willie
put my pole to the dayton, and after
breakfast John drove my horse with
his to "Hazledean" to bring Ida and
the children to make us a visit.
Willie went with him as far as "Fairfield"
and drove back in the afternoon.
It rained at intervals all
day but only in light showers.
John arrived with Ida & the chil-
dren & childs nurse about 5.20
p.m. After supper Willie & I
went up to the toll house. Harry
Fairall came to practice with
Edwd after supper. No war news,
of importance to day. Com. Dewie's
official report not having
reached Washington.
