50° Ther. TUES. MAY 10th, 1898 Variable Wind.
Another beautiful day. I went
to the store & P.O. morning and
afternoon. Dora has been suffering
with toothache for several days
and I extracted the tooth for her
this afternoon. I am not at all
well myself, suffering with rheumatic
pain etc. After supper Willie and
Alice Pierce came & spent an hour
with us.

This has been a peculiar sort of
a day. Clear early this morning, and
a thunder & hail storm in afternoon
with the sun shining during the
heaviest of the rain & hail.
I walked over to see Kate Mathews
after dinner & before the rain.
Miss Sallie Ellicott called me
over the "phone" to prescribe for
her Mother for "sore throat" etc.
a colored girl [Henrietta Mitchell)
was here for advice & medicine
after supper I went to the store
& toll house. Another thunder
gust is coming up from N.W. & W.
since sun set.
