64 Ther. FRI. MAY 20th, 1898 S E. Wind.

Clear & beautiful this morning
but very warm or hot in the sun.
Went to the Store & P.O. Edwd & H
did considerable work in garden
planting lima beans, carrots, beets
& parsnips etc. Afternoon I went
to the public School house. to
the closing exercises. There was
also something going on at the
"Sherwood" School, a "May day"
performance around a "May pole"
etc. which Edwd attended.
Quite a heavy thurnder-gust passed
south of us about 4-30 o'clock, and
another after sun set of which
we got some rain. & it looks as if
we would have more before midnight
or morning. We Received a
postal card from Dora in Philada.

63. Ther. SAT. MAY 21st, 1898 Variable. Wind.

Worked in the garden planted two
more rows of potatoes, making in
all to this time three pecks of seed.
The new board of public school
trustees were qualified & organized
this morning. A. F. Fairall taking
my place in the board. I went
to the store & P.O. Willie & Fanny
and the baby came before supper
to spend the night with us.
It threatened a thunder storm
but passed around us and
is much cooler this evening
After supper W & I went to the
toll house.
