Cloudy & threatning rain most
of the day. Edwd & I went to meeting:
we had a sermon from Edwd
Farquhar. Willie and Fanny went
back to "Fairfield" before dinner,
intending to call at "Eldon" to see
Fanny Dickinson, who is visiting
her parents. There was a rumor
of a great naval battle having
been fought off the coast of Cuba,
but upon investigating it proved
to be only a rumor. I went to the
toll house twice & to Fairall's
to hear from the supposed battle.
It sprinkled rain several times
today but it did not amount to much.
