Cloudy & Clearing
68 Ther. MON. MAY 30th, 1898 N.W. Wind

Quite warm until towards evening,
when the wind came from N. W.
& it was much cooler. This is "Whitsuntide"
or "Whitmonday", a great
holiday amongst colored people & also
"Decoration day" a National holiday.
Afternoon I walked to Ashton and
back. Edward drove to "Fairfield"
expecting to spend the night there.
H. Melville Parker (Wm J. Parker's
son) called this morning.
After supper Mrs Robison came in
I went to the store & toll house.
Was called up after I had gone to
bed to examine a boy who had been
injured (in wresteling) at Brighton. he
was the son of Frances Howard and
the repruted son of Louis Hill who
came with him, & as I believe had
been drinking I declined treating the
case as he lives too far from me for
me to give it proper attention, &
he was not suffering much if any pain
& little or no swelling of injured arm.

Clear.
65 Ther. TUES. MAY 31st, 1898 N.W. & N.E. Wind

Beautiful day, quite cool enough
to be comfortable in the house, but
delightful out of doors. I had sythe
ground, & cut some grass for the horse
in Old Mr Oldfield's lot. one of his
grandsons wheeled it down for me.
Edwd came home from "Fairfield"
at lunch time. Old Uncle Henson
was at the office after dinner.
I cut the grass around the house
with the lawn mower. After supper
I went to the store & toll house. &
Edward went to John. C. Bentley's.
