Beautiful day after the rain
of yesterdy which broke the
[drouth?} which we had suffered
from I went to the store and
to "Fairall's office. Afternoon
Willie & Family & baby came
Willie went back to "Fairfield"
& returned after supper:
Joe P. Iddings & Walter Iddings
called this afternoon.
After supper I went to the
toll house. The Spainish fleet
under "Cervera" were all
captured including "Cervera" &
his flag ship & many prisoners
The surrender of Santiago
is a mere matter of a day
or two

Ther. 68o WED. JULY 6th, 1898 Wind N.E.
Willie & Fanny went over to
Luther Muncaster's, leaving the
baby here with Dora. Mr & Mrs
Boyden called this afternoon
soon after W. & F had returned
they left before supper but
W & F remained to tea and
left for "Fairfield" soon after.
I went to the toll house in
the evening Frank hopkins was
here for advice & c for his infant
daughter after I had gone to
bed.
