Cloudy & Clear
Ther. 70 WED. JULY 27th, 1898 Wind Variable
I was called out of bed this morning
& drove up to see Geo. Matthews
who is extremely ill with cholera
merbus having been so since
Sunday. I then drove to Ashton
and back after which Edwd
drove to "Fairlfield" to be gone all
night. I went over to the meeting
house to the funeral of Albert
Stabler's infant son. Afternoon
we had a thunder gust & heavy
rain I went to the store and to
Hurleban's. After supper we had
another rain storm. I was called
over the telephone from "Marden"
to go again to see Matthew's who
"was thought to be dying". I went
at once, Frank Leizear going
with me (walking up there through
the rain) and found him indeed
in a dying condition. I remained
until he had passed away when
we returned again through the
rain, reaching home about ten
o'clock.
