Still very hot weather.
Willie, Fanny & the baby came over
for a while this morning. Edwd
went back to "Fairfield" with them
to assist at the "Entertainment"
tonight at Brighton Grange Hall
Mrs Page from the "Anchorage" called
to see me this morning about Mrs
Matthew's affairs. I went to the
store & shops morning & afternoon.

Ther. 76o SAT. JUY 30th, 1898 Wind Variable
Still hot, but a nice breeze from
the S. Dora left home this morning
to go over to Charley's in Virginia, for a
visit. Edwd taking her to Rockville,
they left here soon after 6. o'clk, she
will take the 9 - 9 train for Brunswick
where Charley will meet or send for her.
Last night was one of the most oppressively
hot nights I remember. Edwd
staid all night at "Fairfield" and came
over early this morning. Reached home
from Rockville at noon. Anna Snowden
(colored) was here for advice & medicine.
Afternoon I went to Ashton & rode back
with Mrs Henderson's sister (Mrs Marlow).
After supper went to the store.
We had a fine rain about an hour
this afternoon without any "storm" of
wind or thunder & lightening.
