Another hot night & another
hot day. Willie Fanny & baby
came. Edwd & I went to meeting
which was "monthly meeting".
after I had been to Henderson's
and had my hair cut. Afternoon
I walked up to Henderson's
towards evening a thunder
storm came up from S.W. it
was after supper and continued
until after dark. W. & F
concluded to remain all night as
it had rained so violently that the
river was likely to be too high to
cross. Willie borrowed some hay
from Henderson's for the horses
tonight.

The storm of last evening has
not "cooled us off" as was expected,
and it is still very warm. Willie
& Fanny left after breakfast and
Edwd followed them soon after
taking the horse & surry: pole & double
harness to leave them for a time at
"Fairfield". I rode with him as far
as Chas Porter's, to whom I paid ten
dollars on account & rode home
with John Bentley. Afternoon about
2.30 o'clk, we had another thunder gust
coming from N.W. & W: it rained very
hard and flooded the roads past our
house almost as much as yesterdays
storm. Lizzie Scott was here and
took a dress Dora had fixed for
her. After supper I went up to Esq.
Fairall's. Another thunder gust
came from N.W. between 8 - and
9. o'clk. Willie brought Edwd
home in the afternoon and went
back before supper. The threatened
thunder storm did not amount to
anything scarsley after all.
