Ther. 73 TUES. AUG. 2d, 1898 Wind S.E.
Slightly cooler today. I went up
to the village morning & afternoon
Towards evening Anna Snowden
called at the office & paid the
balance she owed me. After
supper Joseph Tivell (telegraph
operator) called at the office
and applied "Resinol" to relieve
the affects of Rhus toxi codendron"
poisoning on his hands & wrists.
{Our son Charley's wife
presented him with another
daughter at about 11. o'clk
on this date.

a week later.}

Ther. 75o WED. AUG. 3d, 1898 Wind S.W.
Last night was the "hottest" night
we have had this summer. After
breakfast I walked to Ashton for
some paint for the phaeton & c. I rode
back with Fredric Stabler & wife on
their way to meeting. Sister Harriet
called whilst Saml Thomas & wife
went to meeting & went back with
them after meeting, they are to take
her "Riverside" this afternoon.
Sarah Wright came to wash & iron for
Harriet. Afternoon I went again
to the store & P.O. after early tea
Edwd rode bicycle to "Homewood"
to take some pictures he has made
for them of their old home "(Forestdale")
in Lancaster Co Pa. He
reached home just after dark.
It has been another hot day and
threatens thunder gusts tonight.
