Ther. 74 WED. AUG 10th, 1898 Wind Variable
This may be called a rainy day
as it not only rained all last
night, but (with short intervals)
all day today. I went to the
store & shops several times.
We had letters from both Dora
& Charley. the new baby was
born a week ago last night
and its name is "Gertrude"
both mother & child are doing
well.

It is pleasant to see the sun
shine again, and the weather is
cooler. I worked at cutting out
some oil cloth to repair the top
of the phaeton, which is being
repainted at the shops -
Afternoon Edwd walked up
to "Fairfield" expecting to stay
there all night. After supper
I went up to the toll house
and P.O.
