Ther. 73 THURS. AUG 18, 1898 Wind S. & N.W.
This has been a very warm day
or hot would express it better.
I walked to Ashton & back
before dinner. Willie & Fanny
came in time for dinner, the
former feeling quite unwell
concluded to remain here
all night & Fanny drove the
horse back to "Fairfield". Old
"Uncle Henson" called here.
"Arch" Hopkin's wife was here
for advice & medicine
I brought the phaeton home
from the shops. Went to the
store & P.O. before & afternoon.
We had quite a heavy thunder
gust about supper time, and

It is still very warm notwithstanding
the thunder gusts of
last evening. Henson Johnson
came & went down our well & took
up the bucket of meat & c that
went down yesterday. Afternoon
Fanny & the baby came intending
to stay with Willie until
he's better: he being quite
sick with a dysentetic attack.
I worked at repairing the
phaeton top.
