Ther. 75o WED. AUG 24th, 1898 Wind S.W.
Promises to be another scorching
hot day. I went to the mill
for flour & c and to the store
& P.O. my friend Frederic
Tyson came in the morning
stage to make us a long promised
visit. After supper Edwd
went (on bicycle) to Chas F
Brooke's to a little party.
After dark there came up
a thunder - gust, but it passed
around North of us , giving us a
shower, and a grand electric
display, and cooled the air
very much after it having
been one of the hottest days
we have had this summer.
I do not know whether to
expect him home tonight or
not after the rain.

last. Willie & Fanny called on their
way to Olney to the "Tournament"
& c. I mailed a money order to
1001 Spring Garden St Phila. for an
elastic support or bandage for
Fanny. Edwd also went to Olney
on bicycle . I walked to Ashton
& back before dinner. Afternoon
two thunder gusts passed
around us south. After supper
Edward went again to Olney to
a dance.
