No rain last night, as was expected,
but a thunder shower or
gust passed south of us and
has made it rather cooler.
I went to A. F. Fairall Esq's and
proved my pension certificates
and mailed them to Washington.
Sarah Wright came to wash for
Harriet. Afternoon Edwd and
Dora went to "Fairfield" to stay
all night & attend a rehersal
of a play. After supper I went
to the P.O. and A. F. Fairall Esq
came to the office for medicine.

Colored girl from Mary Gilpin's
"Viola Stewart" here & had tooth extracted.
Dora & Edwd came home form "Fairfield"
about 9. o'clk a.m. This has been
another oppressively hot day, and
I have felt it more as I have not
been at all well. Walter Iddings
called here & spent an hour or so
bringing a note from sister H to
Dora. After supper, Edwd went
to a dancing party at "Olney".
I walked up to the village.
Mrs Robison was in to see me
several times today about her
failing to hear from money
she has sent to Baltimore for
medicine, the last time by a
P.O. Money Order.
