Ther. 62o TUES. SEPT. 13th, 1898 Wind
Fire in the open fireplace feels
very comfortable in the mornings
Mr S Thornton Nichols came back
last evening & staid all night
with us, his son Henry Nichols
of Galveston Tex. came over from
Mrs Mathews and dined with
{with} us. Afternoon he took his
father back with him to "Hazeldean"
Willie & Fanny came &
took tea with us. Frank Cook
brought his little boy this morning
for me to remove something
for one of his ears: it was so
far down in the ear that with the
instruments I had I could not
get behind it.
Margaret Hallowell called to
see Harriet & Dora.

Cloudy & Clearing
Ther. 67o WED. SEPT. 14th, 1898 Wind E. & S.E.
Looked quite threatening this morning,
& "sprinkled" rain but did not
amount to a rain. I walked over to
Eldon to Thos. Leas funeral. Edward
& Dora drove over & went on to the
cemetary. I only went to the house
& walked home. Afternoon Frank
Cook came to the office for advice
& medicine for his little boy. Miss
Martha Holland called. Willie
brought the Dayton back. Ellie
Chandlee came with him. Edwd
took Ida & the children a drive.
Harry Easton was here and had
a tooth extracted. I went to the
store & P.O. several times. After
supper Dora & Edwd went to a
lecture at the Orthodox meeting
house Miss Mary F & Bessie R went
with them.
