Ther. 70o SAT. SEPT. 17th, 1898 Wind
It has cleared off without rain.
I went to see F. Cook's little boy
again & examined his ears with
a magnifying glass without finding
any froeign substance in them.
Ida & children went to "Fairfield" to
spend the day. Afternoon Edward
went to "Fairfield" in the surry to
bring Willie Fanny & the baby home
with him to spend the night, but the
"Homewood" cousins came to "Fairfield"
so they could not come. Martha
Bowen came to the office for advice
& medicine just at suppertime.
After supper I walked up to the village
I went to see Frank Cook's little boy
several times as I was passing
their house.

Very warm weather again
which we feel more after the
cool spell we have had. Edwd
& I went to meeting. W & F came
before dinner. Afternoon Mr A. G
Mathews & his daughter "Gertrude"
came and Ida & the children went
back with them to "Hazeldean", Ida
& the baby & Louise and her father, and
Hallie & Catherine in C's dayton
with their aunt Gertrude driving.
W & F went back to "Fairfield"
leaving us with our own family
alone, for the first time for some time
Charlotte Dudd here for advice & c
I wrote & mailed letter to T.H.B.
Gave letter & "ticket" to Frank Cook to
admit his little boy for treatment to the
Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in Baltimore
for removal of foreign substance
from his ears.
