Rain & Wind
Ther. 40o SUN. DEC. 4th, 1898 Wind N.E.
Rained throughout last night
and continues today, wind blowing
violently from N.E. I went to
meeting, which was a very small
one, the weather being too stormy
to turn out. Edwd Farquhar
preached a short sermon.
Edwd & "Walter" started (before lunch
time) in the phaeton for "Riverside"
in the midst of the storm of rain
& wind and contrary to my advice
& remonstrance. Walter thinking
he must be at "Riverside" to look
after Thomas in the absence of his
aunt Lizzie or any white person.
Edwd expects to stay there all
night. This has been a notable storm
of wind & rain from N.E. lasting from
after midnight last until after dark
tonight. Mrs Robison & Miss M Fowler
came after supper.

some time. I went to Insurance office
where Allan Farquhar filled out and
attached seal to my pension voucher
& c which I mailed by the noon mail
via Hollands corner & c. Edwd came
home from "Riverside" where he staid
last night. Willie Fanny & baby
left after breakfast for "Fairfield".
Afternoon Hallie Bentley called and
brought us some of the product of
them "hog killing". Dora and Edwd
went (in the phaeton) to "Fairfield" to
a "church sociable" which meets
there this evening: they expect to
stay there all night. The wind
is blowing strong from N.W. and
it is growing much colder since
sun set.
