Cloudy
Ther. 26o THURS. DEC. 8th, 1898 Wind N.W.
Still colder this morning, but
cloudy most of the day & looks
like more snow. I telephoned to
Dr Geo Cook that I could not go
with him to Washington tomorrow
as had been proposed.
Afternoon Snowden Thompson
called. I went to the mill, and
to the store & P.O. twice. I found
a box of natural leaf tobacco
of fine quality from Mr Wm E Lewis
at the store for me; it was
sent from Rockville by stage
by Frank Fairall. A. F. Fairall Esq
kindly obtained it for me from
Mr Lewis (who is a friend of his)
I was much pleased with some that
Esq F gave me that I got him to order
a lot for me of the same kind
Mrs Robison came in after supper
Edwd drove over to "Eldon" this morning
to bring sister H to spend the day, but it was
so cold & windy she was afraid to venture out
and did not come
