Ther. 12o WED. DEC. 14th, 1898 Wind SW & NW
The coldest morning so far
this winter. I walked to Ashton
& back before lunch time. After
noon Willie Fanny & baby came to
attend Friend Saml Thomas' funeral
with the rest of us (at meeting house)
and remain here all night intending
to go to Washington tomorrow
Dora & Fanny Willie & I went over to
the funeral which was largely
attended. After supper we had
some music. Bessie Robison came
in for while.

Ther. 12o THURS. DEC. 15th, 1898 Wind S.E.
Willie & Fanny started to Washington
via Kensington at 7. o'clk a.m.
I was called to see Old Mr John
Oldfield, who had fallen on the
ice at his door step & broken his
hip besides injuring his shoulder
all of his left side. I saw
Dr Brooke in the village and
asked him to assist me in
adjusting his injuries, he met
me at 3. o'clk p.m. & again at
7. o'clk in the evening when we
applied an aparatus to extend
the broken limb. Willie and
Fanny retruned about 6. o'clk
p.m. having left the baby
with us during their absence.
