Cloudy & Rain
Ther. 38o TUES.DEC. 20th, 1898 Wind 38
It rained very hard several
times during last night.
I went to Oldfield's and to the
store & P.O. Afternoon I rode
to Ashton with Frank Snowden
and back with Willie, who
came for advice & medicine
for himself & the baby.
Lizzie Scott was here to see
Dora. Mrs Robison came in
for a short call.

Cloudy & Threatening
Ther. 37o WED. DEC. 21,1898 Wind N.E.
Cloudy & Foggy over head and
mud & slush under foot. Edwd
drove to "Fairfield" after breakfast
to help W & F, expecting to
be gone all night. I went to
Oldfield's and to the P.O. and
Fairall's office. Recd letter
from Mrs Tysontelling of the
illness of my dear friend
Frederic Tyson with "gripp" and
"pneumonia". I wrote in reply
immediately expressing
my sorrow & anxiety. I would
go to him at once, were it not
that I fear I would be more in
the way, then any good could
do. Lizzie Scott here. Afternoon
went again to Oldfield's. Harriet
finished a new pair of trousers
for me, with which I am
delighted.
