Ther. 22o MON. DEC. 26th, 1898 Wind Variable
Willie came before breakfast
after which he left his jagger &
took our surry to take a stove from
Ashton to "Fairfield". I went to see
Old Mr Oldfield again, he passed
away about noon, being released
from suffering which could not
be relieved except by death.
Walter J came to lunch with us.
Afternoon Edwd drove W's jagger
to "Fairfield". I walked over to
"Atholwood" to call upon Col.
& Mrs Rust & Herbert Kirk &
wife and rode as far Ashton
with the young couple on
their way back to Philada
Kate Matthews was here to
consult me about her little girl.

Ther.25 TUES. DEC. 27th, 1898 Wind S.E.
Edwd came home from "Fairfield"
& Willie also came and
staid until afternoon. When
he took Dora with him and
went back to "Fairfield" calling
on their way to "Riverside".
I went to the store and P.O.
called at Oldfields. Saml
Oldfield brought home some
articles I had loaned them.
After supper Harry Fairall
was here for advice & medicine.
