Bear Lake, a small lake in the western part of Sheboygan County, in town fifteen range twenty.

Beetown Diggings (Mine No 11)

Belmont, a post town in Iowa county, beautifully situated near the base of the eastern of the Platte Mounds, twelve miles south west from Mineral Point. It consists of some ten or fifteen good substantial wooden buildings, pained white- many of them large and two stories high; and is a place of some note in consequence of having been selected in 1836 by Governor Dodge as the place of meeting for the first Legislative Assembly of Wisconsin. A company was incorporated in 1836 to construct a rail road from this place to the Mississippi.
