-ufactured on this river and floated down the Mississippi as far as St. Louis. About fifteen miles above its mouth it has a falls 22 in 100 yds, and near its mouth it receives on the west side a large tributary called [Bluff] river. Falls 100 miles by land from Prairie du Chien on dividing ridge like that S. of Wisconsin. Several Mountains of "iron stone ore" 100 to 300 ft. high with a few miles of these falls. With little import at mouth might be made. Navigable to Falls for small steam boats.
Black river, a tributary of Rainy Lake river, entering from the south between the Grand Fork and the River of Rapids.
Blake's Prairie- a beautiful prairie in the western part of Grant County.
Blast Furnace- a post office has been established with this name in Grant County.
Block House Creek, a small stream which rises in town three range one west, in Grant County, and runs in a south westerly direction into the Little Platte river.
