There is a post office established here under the name of [Mounds?]
Blue River- a stream about twenty miles in length in the north eastern part of Grant County, on which there are some very valuable mines of lead and copper; it runs in a northerly direction and enters the Wisconsin about thirty two miles above its mouth. It enters the western extremity of English Prairie and then makes a sudden bend to the west, running six miles nearly parallel with the river before it enters. The water is clear.

Bluff River (or Bluff Island River) a large stream that enters Black river just before its junction with the Mississippi.
