Darien a P.O. in Walworth Co.

Darien, a town in Walworth County, organized in 1840 to include the surveyed township number two north in range number fifteen east. It is mostly prairie embracing a portion of the great Rock prairie, and is watered by Turtle creek which passes through the town from east to west.-Population 1840-232, 1842-482.

Death's Door, one of the channels into Green Bay from Lake Michigan, so called on account of the many disasterous accidents and lives lost in attempts to enter this channel.

Deer river, a branch of the Mississippi, entering forty thre miles above the Falls of Pickagama. It is the outlet of Cross Lake (Chevieville)

Deer Lake, a small lake 87 acres (half a mile in length) in Rock county, two miles south of Lake Koshkonong and near the west end of the Prairie du Lac. It is in section twenty, town four, range thirteen.
