Delafield- a place in the town of Nemahbin in Milwaukee country where the U.S. road crosses Bark river. It has a grist & saw mill, a tavern, P.O. store, mechanics shops, &c.

Delavan, a town in Walworth county embracing the surveyed township number two in range number sixteen. Its population in 1838 was 221; in 1840-it was 154 in 1842 289. It embraces Turtle Lake, one of the principal sources of Turtle Creek; and is about equally divided between timber and prairie land, the prairie occupying the northern portion.
