Koshkonong French: Agreably to the census of 1840 taken under the authority of the United States there were in this town at that time 26 horses, 193 meat cattle, 9 sheep, & 316 hogs and in 1839 there were produced 1210 bushels of wheat, 20 of bailey, 290 of oats, 2865 of Indian corn and 1890 of potatoes. The maple sugar made amounted to 830 pounds and the values of daily produce was $828. There was one retail store with a capital of $2500.
