Fond du lac (Town) embraces nearly all the county, to which towns fourteen fifteen and sixteen in ranges sixteen and seventeen; and towns thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen in ranges eighteen and nineteen. It was established in 1842.

Fond du Lac river (Soocheerah) a small stream entering Lake Winnebago in Fond du Lac County at its southern extremity, near the town of Fond du Lac. It takes its rise in a marsh about three miles in extent which is also drained by the head waters of Rock river. it is navigable nearly two miles from irs mouth, at which point it receives the seven mile creek from the west. The river above this runs with a rappid current between high banks.

Fond du Lac river- a name sometimes applied to the River a Gouche, which see. It is also sometimes applied to the St. Louis river.
