Franklin-Agreeably to the U.S. Census there were in this town in 1840 25 horses, 364 meat cattle, 124 sheep, and 494 hots, and in 1839 there were produced 590 bushels of wheat, 20 of barley, 30 of oats, 72 of buckwheat, 2234 of Indian corn, and 4,675 of potatoes. The maple sugar made amounted to 6167 pounds: there were one grist mill and one saw mill.
