Grant, a village in Grant county on the west side of Grant river in township four north and range four west.

Grant river, a small tributary of the Mississippi in Grant county west of Platte river. It collects the surplus waters from a large portion of the county through its very numerous branches, and discharges then [one mile above] at the town of Potosi. It is navigable for steam boats twelve miles.

Granville, a town in Milwaukee county established in 1840 to include township number eight north and range number twenty one east. It has a very rich soil well covered with timber. It is well watered from numerous copious springs which rush up through the limestone rock. The Milwaukee river runs through the north east part of the town; the Menomonee runs along the west line, and the east Branch runs through the whole
