The larger river may be considered as the eastern limits of the Mineral Region as no lead or copper mines have been detected east of that stream; nor indeed could they be expected on account of the change of geological character that there takes place- the "lead bearing rock" being succeeded by sandstone similar to that found along the Wisconsin.
