Jefferson- a town in Jefferson County embracing town six-ranges thirteen (Oakland 1843) fourteen [N 1/2 T6R15&16] and so much of the two [illegible] south tiers of sections in towns seven range fourteen 15, & 16, as lies east of the west branch of Rock river. The village of Jefferson the county seat is near the north east corner of this town.-Population in 1840-250. (See last page).

Jefferson, the Capital of Jefferson County is situated on the east side of Rock river immediately above the junction of the West branch. It has a post office and a few dwellings. P.O.

Johnsons Creek, a small tributary of Rock river in Jefferson county, affording some water power and entering the river five miles above the "Forks".

Johnson Rapids- a rapid in Rock river in the north part of Jefferson county at the town of Watertown. A dam has been erected here which raises the water nine and four tenths feet, and the whole descent of [some] the
