Menomonee-In 1840 there were in this town according to the Census 36 head of meat cattle & 69 hogs; the crops raised in 1839 were 216 bushels of wheat; 200 of oats, 35 of buckwheat, 470 of Indian corn, & 925 of potatoes; 570 pounds of maple sugar were made in this town in that year.

*Meacham-a town established in 1843 from the west part of Troy in Walworth Co., comprising township No 4 Range No 17, so named in honor of Jene Meacham the oldest settler and one of the most enterprising farmers in Wisconsin. It is watered near the south border by Honey creek-Land O. Openings. The name changed to Troy! by same Legislature!!
