[Printed/typewritten clipping on Mineral Point].

Mineral Point, the seat of justice of Iowa county, is the most important village within the limits of the mineral country, being situated in the immediate vicinity of extensive and rich beds of lead and copper ore, the mining and smelting of which constitutes the principal business of that region. The town contains a population of seven or eight hundred, and having a permanent resource in the shape of its lead and copper productions, which are every year becoming more extensively developed, its growth cannot be otherwise than healthful and rapid. Here is located the land office for the western district of the Territory.
